Soul Portraits originated on the powerful island of Maui, it all began with beautiful artists in the healing artists visiting Maui and arranging shoots with me. Sasha came, Sarah came, Adriana came... These sessions, held amidst the mysteries, mesmerizing beauties, and mythopoetic geology of Maui, delved into the profound realms of soul art. I had just left my career as a commercial photographer in New York to give time and space to hear my soul’s voice. Maui has always been a Temple Time for me.

Maui mirrors the deep multi-layered soul, and its breathtaking life force induces, activates, moves, transforms, and infuses our own life fluids. Maui offers synergy, connection, remembrance, and the powerful luminosity of our spirit and heart. We, artists, nomads, mystics, live cyclical lives, we understand the importance of opening and closing cycles. Temple Time Maui wants to hold that space for you as you cleanse in Maui fresh waters. Sometimes we need time away from everyone and everything. We're constantly processing the nuances of emotional stress caused by the chaos in the world. We feel a strong pull towards alchemizing and transmuting the depths of our emerging culture into art, words, thoughts, expression.

Your body has something to say as we imagine our collective journey and create the world we want to belong. The world's big problems trick us into thinking our expression, voice, nourishment, poetry aren't necessary. They freeze us into states of hiding, playing right into manipulative agendas. Us, healing artists, mystics, creatives, we are the ones enhancing the world with our enchantment, bridging emotions, connecting the dots and birthing a new world without denying the reality and currency of the present one. It's not utopia; it's a creative renaissance, a movement.

We mystical artists hold the power to cultivate positive sentiments amidst difficulties, expressing ourselves in ways that empower and encourage our collective. Art carries emotional power, it holds resonance that motivates important change.

Decoding ourselves in a world that has changed, accepting (and celebrating) that it won't go back to normal, we become agents for healing. Some of us are leaders guiding communities into remembrance and awakening, holding a field as we collectively move through compassion fatigue, influx of optics and embodiment of values. We heal with the art we make.
